Now this is definitely a kiltA couple weeks ago Monica and I were driving through town when we spotted this old guy walking happily down the sidewalk. Seemed normal enough. But the guy was wearing a skirt. I said something along the lines of “Check out that guy in the skirt.” and Monica said that it was a kilt, not a skirt. Then a discussion ensued.

Monica said that because it was pleated (which is a term that I still don’t fully understand), that it was a kilt. I said that it wasn’t plaid, so it was just a skirt. Granted, I know nothing about kilts even though I’m Irish and apparently my last name is Scottish. The only exposure I’ve had to kilts is from cartoons and when I used to listen to Korn in 7th grade, but I’ve always thought that kilts are and had to be plaid.

Monica disagreed though, saying that the design could vary based on the person’s heritage. I still think that’s bullshit and that guy just liked wearing a skirt. I saw him on my way home from work today and he was just as happy. Plus he was sporting some knee high socks. Whatever he was wearing, the guy looked happy as could be. Whether he’s wearing a skirt or a kilt, he doesn’t care what anyone thinks or says. He’s got a breeze between his legs and that’s A-OK with him.
