Ramblings of a 20-Something
After 2 Years, They Give You the Other Half (2/6/2009)
I’m up at 6:30 to the alarm clock once again. We somehow wake up and watch an episode of X-Files as the day begins. Oh, it’s Friday. Sweet, glorious Friday.
I get in to work and it’s f’ing cold out. Seriously. Work holds it’s usual wonderment. Nothing all that special for the first part of the morning. I help Rena pull some research info for a project Alan has her working on, but that doesn’t take long.
Lunch is spent downstairs as usual. I shiver my way through some mac and cheese and read The Stand. I have to finish this book by my birthday or at the very latest, the end of February. Speaking of my birthday, I have no idea what I want to do. Last year was the drunk time, but this year I’m turning 25. I’ll be a quarter of a century old. Shit. Scrabble tournament?
Speaking of stuff to do, Monica and I have off for President’s Day next Monday. This means we both have a 3 day weekend with Valentine’s Day tossed in there too. This is another time where we don’t really have anything planned. We’ll have to figure that out.
I return to work after lunch. We get the sign off for a buy we’ve been working on for the past few weeks. This is a big deal for me because it’s the first time that I’m putting my name down as the buyer. This is my first buy and here I am ordering it. Pretty cool.
I also receive this little half-circle glass thing with the company logo on it. This is my reward for working here for a year. I took a picture of it, but it doesn’t show up all that well with it being glass which is clear and all.

I head home at 5:30 and I’m home a half hour later. Monica and I make some frozen pizza and then watch Deep Impact. I’ve been meaning to watch this movie since the inauguration because of the black president and all. I have to say I’m a little disappointed with it. I dug Armageddon
a lot more. While the premises of both are absolutely ridiculous, this one felt even more out there.
After the movie, I do some more reading and I’m asleep by 11:30.
